At just over 40 years old, Alexandra HEINTZ (FRA) aligned herself for the second time on the legendary MARATHON DES SABLES at the 34th edition last April. During her first participation in 2016, she had finished the race, but had suffered particularly badly. "I already participated in the MDS in 2016, it was almost my first trail race! I had never traveled more than 42 km! It was therefore a great discovery. "

Then this second participation in 2019 was placed under the sign of maturity, avoiding to reproduce all these small errors which, combined, really complicate a challenge already not so easy. "I was going back in 2019 for several reasons: to reiterate the experience by avoiding all the errors of beginner and to perform at my level. "

In 2016, Alexandra had reached the end of the adventure at an average speed of 5.1 km / h, ranking 511th overall (51st woman). The idea was then, after three years of training and knowing what to expect, to get the best possible place - done admirably. Alexandra has indeed completed this 34th MARATHON DES SABLES at 7.33 km / h average, more than 2 km / h earned! This progression shows perfectly that in preparing correctly, the same person can live very differently the same race. She finishes 140th overall, 12th woman!

This second participation was also under the sign of sharing, since Alexandra was present as a couple. An experience that has delighted the Garchoise who will probably not stop in this good way!
