The 38th MARATHON DES SABLES LEGENDARY came to an end under cloudy skies, as if the desert was sad to see these sand forcats go. Intense emotions at the finish line for the 93% of finishers!
A half-marathon to round off the 38th MARATHON DES SABLES LEGENDARY: with 21.1 km on a rolling profile, with the exception of a few dunes and two small climbs, most of the contenders for the Finisher's medal let their hair down today, but some wanted to make the most of it, like Eliott SAGEAT (D233-FRA): "I enjoyed it a lot today, I didn't want it to end. It was just a blast!
EMOTIONS MULTIPLIED
At the finish line, few of the participants were able to resist the flood of emotions. Laurence KLEIN (D160-FRA), who finished with her son Lilian (D241-FRA), had a sparkle in her eye: "The atmosphere at the finish line was crazy, it was great to experience it. We're both so proud!
Adrien LOLLY (D786-FRA) is also beaming: "It's a great medal! I've been waiting for it for months! It's just great to cross the finish line.
Laurent DAGUENEL (D426-FRA) is also on cloud nine: "It was magical. It's a wonderful human adventure. It's a dream come true.
Yoann STUCK (D851-FRA), who is used to podium finishes in trail and ultra races, and who finished5th in this year's race for the first time, isn't shying away from his pleasure: "It's a really special race. The people you meet, the sharing, it's a truly authentic race. It's good to see events like this.
93% OF FINISHERS
Although this edition of the MDS LEGENDARY was the longest in its history, the event finished with 93% of finishers! This magnificent collective success is due to a number of factors, including a step-by-step increase in difficulty, unrivalled supervision, a great deal of advice beforehand, and a different medical approach that paid off. The credo: to support each person in their extreme challenge and offer them the chance to make their dream come true, and in turn become a Finisher of the legendary desert event. Whose turn is it?
