Hope for children

Adrian MAY (GBR)

I’m Adrian May and over the last 16 years some very generous people have helped me raise over £60,000 for Childrens charities. Why ? Almost 18 years ago my twin daughters Imogen and Olivia lost their short but fierce fight for life. If I can take any comfort from this time it’s that they had the benefit of a special care baby unit with an extraordinarily compassionate group of Doctors and Nurses using all the technology at their disposal. Sadly it wasn’t enough.

But, there are kids out in the world who are struggling to survive and dying for the want of the basics which most of us have the fortune to take for granted.

It’s not right that in 2017 that young children are living alone on the streets - in Delhi, India alone its estimated there are over 50,000. It’s not right that in 2012, a UNESCO report estimated 58 million children of primary school age are out of school and not receiving any form of education.

It’s not right that children are dying through lack of clean water, mosquito nets, vaccines and basic hygiene. All of which could be bought for what most of us pay for a coffee a week. I can’t change the world but I can help an incredible organization make a difference – Hope for Children. Without hope what is there ?

The MdS is the perfect environment for me to raise awareness of the work of Hope for Children and raise money for them.
