We asked you, 70 days before the 35th MARATHON DES SABLES, how you train. So let's take a quick look at the answers, some very serious, others perhaps a little less… with for all the difficulties of adapting to the constraints of MDS (sand, heat, weight of the bag) and the need to juggle with family and professional obligations. Monday 12km on carpet
Tuesday 1 hour rower
Wednesday 15km hilly
Friday 15km hilly
Saturday 4 hours of Nordic walking with the bag + 2km of swimming
Sunday trail outing between 15 and 25km
1 to 2 outings of approximately 1 hr / 1 hr 15 alternating on / running with or without bag in variable gait
+ cardio work in cycling 1 x / week so as not to traumatize the legs
+ Nordic walking from time to time
+ muscle building at home
Long (but reasonable) outings to come with sand on Dunkirk
4 training sessions per week
But also work of the back, abs, arms, sheathing because we will have to support this backpack, our house for 7 days!
Tuesday: short interval
Sunday: long backpack outing minimum 7kg
Tuesday: 15km fundamental endurance
Thursday: 15km fundamental endurance
Saturday: 20km sand bag 5kg
Sunday: 25km forest bag 5kg
