Passionate about running and fascinated by the desert, my dream was always to participate in the MARATHON DES SABLES ... for this 32nd edition, the arrival is scheduled for April 15 ... date of my 45th birthday.
After sharing several races with my brother Thierry (New York Marathon, Trails des Templiers, Saintélyon ...), the decision was made: in 2017 we would both be on the starting line of the 32nd MDS.
The challenge is first of all personal: to end this mythical test, if possible within a reasonable time. But why spend so much energy for oneself alone when it is also possible to benefit others? To commit to an association is for me the corollary of the physical challenge represented by the MDS, an additional motivation to reach the finish line, the means of making useful and solidary our race.
Having personally assumed all costs related to participation in the MDS, all donations will be donated to the association "Thelma For Anna".
Thelma was a beautiful adolescent, healthy, reasonable, always smiling, open to the world, loving and loved, and very close to her sister Anna.
In contact with her sister, Thelma had acquired the maturity of those who experienced very early trials and an incredible faculty to guess people, to read in their eyes. She knew how to recognize the slightest sign of satisfaction or sadness. Non-verbal exchanges with her little sister had undoubtedly enabled her to acquire this particular sensitivity.
Through their looks, their tender gestures, their games of hands, Thelma and Anna never ceased talking to each other.
In the aftermath of January 13, it's a whole high school, a neighborhood, a city that are overwhelmed by the drama. Many of them wish to lend their support to Thelma's family. Faced with such an outpouring of generosity and sharing, her loved ones decided to make every effort to maintain the exceptional bond that united them by giving life to Thelma For Anna
Thelma for Anna aims to conduct or support any social, medico-social or family-related activities of general interest for people with mental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families, by ensuring that they are respected, defending their dignity, rights and interests, promoting their development and autonomy.
The 1st mission of Thelma For Anna:
Provide respite for families by participating in the creation of a home care service specializing in mental disability, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorders.
