Why do they compete? Some people have no reason. They run for nothing, because it’s useless and incongruous to cross the desert at several kilometres per hour, in places where nothing grows, in a fast-moving contemporary world.
Others need some motivation to push, transcend and accompany them throughout the 7 days and 200 km of MARATHON DES SABLES. This motivation, for many runners, is called solidarity. Each year, we single them out and publish their stories on our website.
