Abdelhadi ELMOUSTAHLI (MAR)

Passionate about racing from the age of 12, I ran ultra and half marathons across Morocco and different countries. Running the MARATHON DES SABLES is my dream since it passed through my village, Zagora, in the early 90's.

This dream becomes a reality today at 37 years old. While I had abandoned the race for more than a year, it is with a third place at the Grand Trail of the Drâa Valley in 2018 that I celebrate my return in this discipline and in my country.

I am fortunate to have Rachid EL MORABITY as my training partner since school, and his brother Mohamed. I take advantage of their experience in this great race and hope to come and follow them. Since 1998, it was the AHANSAL brothers who trained me. Today they are still the ones who coach me with the AKHDAR family also very used of the MDS.

The Utra-trail of the Saharan in Tchad will serve as training for 160 km in March. I will then run races across Morocco and maybe Europe until the end of 2019.

I would also like, with this race, to support a young association, created by Audrey Setbon, "Letters of the Desert" which will work in southern Morocco to help nomadic children to access school. This association should become a partner of the local association AMRAD, founded by the brothers Ahansal - a story of races and men...
