“Whatever happens, I will take the positive out of it”

A newcomer to the MARATHON DES SABLES, Camille CHASTEL will realize “a distant dream” in 2023. Mom, coach, yoga teacher, handyman, Camille shares her daily life on Instagram, inspiring many other women: “You can dream and put everything in place to achieve your dreams. I would be lying if I said that the MARATHON DES SABLES doesn't impress me, or even scare me... It's a big challenge, a big challenge. Whatever happens, I will take positives from it. »

Camille has always been athletic: tennis, swimming, judo, dance… “The main thing was to have fun. “Running came more recently, about ten years ago, without really any structure or objective. But things have changed recently: “After my pregnancy, I wanted to be more diligent and regular and to challenge myself. “And challenges, we can say that the Breton has already taken up some pretty ones, such as the M triathlon in Alpe d’Huez or the New York marathon.

But what has really put her in difficulty for the moment is the Femina Adventure, a multi-sport adventure raid: "There were sports where I was not at all comfortable, and a night event in Guadeloupe when we were still on French time, it stings a bit! Clearly when I was there, I was thinking of the MARATHON DES SABLES which will take me out of my comfort zone like never before. »

If Camille has validated the running aspect with her own coach, her fears are essentially based on the sequence of days of effort without the possibility of having a perfect rest. However, not resting, the entrepreneur knows what it is, since in addition to her activities she is in the process of opening her own structure of sports lessons - "We will say that it will make me a good preparation..." And then on the long straight lines of the MDS, Camille will be able to count on a strong point that is original to say the least: "I am able to do a Paris-Marseille by car, in complete silence, without music, without discussion … I think it will help me at certain times, when I will be alone without anyone in this magnificent desert. »

See you on April 21, 2023 in the southern Moroccan Sahara!
