At 54, Isabelle JOLY has dreamed of participating in MARATHON DES SABLES for many years. She will finally be at the start of the 34th edition: "I have been dreaming of making MARATHON DES SABLES for several years now, so I will try to make this dream come true this year and put my name on the list of Finishers."
Isabelle has always been attracted by long distance events, and has participated in "Mecca" 100 km, Millau, in 2002, there are already 17 years! Since then, this mother of three children living in the north-east of France did not run much in competition, but still offered some long-distance trails in the Marne and the Ardennes.
A health care worker in nursing homes, Isabelle is particularly willing and generous, as her motto illustrates: "The Joly attitude: when we give, we receive.” She was inspired by her husband: "He was an exceptional man, a professional firefighter, who died last year, even though he was encouraging me to register with the MDS."
It is therefore natural that Isabelle associates her participation in the MDS with an association: the Work of the Pupils of the Firefighters. "I wanted to put my beautiful energy to the benefit of an association. The ODPSP supports orphans whose professional or volunteer firefighters have died on duty or not. This association is supported by many volunteers who through their actions to help and improve the lives of many children and lone parents. "
We can only hope that Isabelle will live an exceptional week in the Sahara; and if you cross her stride, greet her, she will brighten your day in return.
