"Behind this sporting commitment hides a large associative project"

Katia BERGAMELLI (FRA), aged 49, is a novice on the MARATHON DES SABLES even if she is rather sporty. Mother of a 22-year-old girl with Down's syndrome, she is engaged in the 35th edition of the legendary race in favor of two associations.

Katia BERGAMELLI

“At the dawn of my 50th birthday, the MARATHON DES SABLES, it's already a personal challenge. And above all I was carried away by the dynamic spiral of the association "Je Cours Pour Toi" which regularly supports the sporting challenges of my association Tcap21 (association of parents and friends who defends, stimulates and supports the young adult with Down's syndrome in his life course); it was obvious to participate in the 35th edition of MDS. Thus, behind this sporting commitment, hides a great associative project that I carry with energy and determination, as the mother of a young girl with Down's syndrome of 22 years and president of Tcap21. A multitude of fans will follow me from a distance in this sporting event: the parents and volunteers of the Tcap21 association, my collaborators from CMA-CGM who will organize a special collection during the race and all my friends in Marseille and Paris, being very involved in various associations, so that upon arrival, we can raise a maximum of funds.
