Nuno QUEIROZ (POR)

Participating in the MARATHON DES SABLES allows you to shine the spotlight on humanitarian causes thanks to the media exposure of the legendary desert event, and thanks to the incredible challenge it represents. Nuno QUEIROZ (POR) is precisely in this case: he will participate for the first time in the MARATHON DES SABLES next year with the intention of helping the animal cause through the association Sapatilhas da Esperança (the shoes of the hope).

At 47, this resident of Viseu in Portugal is in everyday life a worker who loves music and cinema, and of course, running. The MARATHON DES SABLES will be “a challenge of personal overcoming”. And overcoming, he knows what it is, having participated in many official events, but also for having set himself personal challenges.

Thus in 2021, he traveled 220 km in 4 days on the National Road 16 in Portugal to alert on the existence of rare diseases, and to help an association of São-Tomé-et-Príncipe. In 2022, he traveled 739 km in 15 days on the legendary National Route 2 to help a child with a rare disease in Viseu. Combining miles, effort, and noble causes is Nuno's credo.

So in 2023 on the MARATHON DES SABLES, in the heart of the desert, there is no doubt that he will reach the end of his new challenge, with all the same a fear: "The biggest challenge will be the heat, I will soon start preparing my body at high temperatures! »
