My father and grandfather both had Parkinson’s disease, and I was diagnosed with it too in 2012. Parkinson’s disease is the fastest growing Neuro-degenerative disease and NeuroBalance-degenerative diseases are the #1 cause of disability globally. Exercise is the only thing know to slow the progression of these diseases, so upon my diagnosis, I took up exercise to the extreme, completing 10 triathlons including an Ironman, over 35 marathons, I walked 2,600 miles across America (40 miles a day back to back) , across Great Britain, 760 miles in 17 days and many more, all to raise awareness and research funding for Parkinson’s. Since 1994, I have wanted to run the Marathon Des Sables, and now I will to further raise awareness for the disease.
