"I couldn't live without sport"

A former professional footballer (2014-2022), Juan Carlos can't live without sport: "My passion is sport and a healthy lifestyle. I want to take on big challenges, surpass myself and show the best version of myself".

This 38th LEGENDARY MARATHON DES SABLES is the first time that Juan Carlos has hung up a bib, and it's fair to say that he hasn't chosen the easiest way to enter the world of ultra: "I've never taken part in an adventure like this. I want to get my message out to the world, I want to show that it's possible to compete and finish an event like this with no previous experience and without ever having taken part in an official race with a race number."

And it's working, to say the least: the Spaniard is currently 18th in the overall rankings after stage 4. His goal of an extraordinary experience has already been achieved: "I want to see how far I can go and I know that the MDS will demand the maximum from me. I like a tough challenge and I know it will be an unforgettable experience.
