“I will be with him throughout this journey”

Frédéric is taking part in the MARATHON DES SABLES Legendary for the third time, as usual in a team sponsored by his company. This year, there are 12 of them, and they are defending ARSLA, the Association for Research on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Invested in their mission, they raised funds before coming to Morocco to support the association: “It gives extra motivation, we get involved, we will knock on doors, ask for money here and there.“

Between two violent gusts of wind, Frédéric smiles while thinking of the windy conditions of this morning: “This is the third time I have come. It’s still extraordinary, great, it’s still a great adventure, the MDS allows us to return to our roots.“ Indeed, this adventure is a truly voluntary stripping away of the artifices of our modern life. Food self-sufficiency is also part of this return to simple things: everyone has to carry their own food for a week and prepare their own meals. “For the meals from last night to this evening, we took a little extra food since we didn't have to carry them, so that's fine, we had fun. It is only from tomorrow that we will truly be self-sufficient.“

If Frédéric's adventure will be experienced as a group, it will also be experienced as a duo, since he will accompany Xavier CHOPARD (D43-FRA), a friend, from start to finish: “This third participation will be special for me, I I'm going to accompany Xavier, who has been hemiplegic since the age of three. I will be with him throughout this journey, it will be a great adventure.“ A dedication in the name of friendship which is a pleasure to see and which is completely in line with the solidarity advocated by the MDS.
