CONCEPT

CONCEPT

Embark in the Ica desert for a week out of time with breathtaking scenery.

On the program: a week of adventure in which you will live at the rhythm of the desert, through 3 stages, to be done at your own pace: by walking or running.

You will sleep 3 nights on the MDS bivouac, along the Pacific Ocean, and 4 nights in a hotel (2 before the adveenture: in Lima, 2 after: in Paracas).

After the adventure, we strongly recommend that you extend your stay by discovering the richness of Peru, such as Machu Picchu and the Rainbow Mountains. For information on tours and excursions, please contact our partner Coltur.

Distances

Distances

You can choose between 3 different distances: 70, 100 or 120km, divided into 3 stages.

Here is the breakdown:

  • Stage 1: around 25 to 30km
  • Stage 2: around 20, 40 or 60km
  • Stage 3: around 25 to 30km

You will be able to walk or run these distances.

What is included in the offer:

  • Bib for the adventure
  • Transfers between the hotel and the desert
  • 4 nights in a hotel (2 before the adventure in Lima, 2 after in Paracas)
  • 3 nights on the MDS bivouac, in individual tent
  • Medal and finisher t-shirt
  • Dinner and Gala evening

You will share your hotel room with one or two other participants. Once you've registered, you'll be able to enter the name of the person you'd like to share the hotel with.

If you don't fill in anything, you'll be randomly allocated a room with one or two other participants.

Join the adventure serenely

The organisation of the MDS does its best to ensure that the event takes place in the best conditions, and that participants who register don’t take any risk with adjusted cancellation and postponement conditions.

Free postponement

In case of doubt as the adventure approaches, you can postpone your participation free of charge to the next edition, up to 60 days before departure.

Free cancellation

Our registration conditions allow you to cancel free of charge until 5 months before the event.

Cancellation insurance

In case of cancellation of the event by the organization, you will be refunded 100% of the amount you paid within 60 days

RACE REQUIREMENTS

This edition requires the participation of at least 200 people to take place.
An update will be made on January 31, 2025, to decide whether or not the event will be held, or before if the objective is met.

INFO HOW TO GET THERE?

You need to book your flight to Lima airport in Peru.

Once there, you just need to take a taxi to the hotel located about 45 minutes from the airport in the Miraflores district, where MDS staff will welcome you (the fare will be less than 10€, about 35 Peruvian Soles). 
 

WHICH FLIGHTS TO CHOOSE?

It's best to arrive fairly early in the day on Saturday, November 29 to ensure you have enough time to rest.

We recommend that participants take flight tickets with cancellation and modification insurance, taking into account restrictions that may be applied by countries.

PROGRAM OF THE WEEK

Saturday: arrival at the hotel, discover Lima, night at the hotel.

Sunday: technical and medical checks, night at the hotel.

Monday: bus transfer, first stage, night at the bivouac.

Tuesday: second stage, night at the bivouac.

Wednesday: rest day, night at the bivouac.  Thursday: third stage, transfer to Paracas, night at the hotel.

Thursday: third stage, transfer to Paracas, night at the hotel.

Friday: day in Paracas, awards ceremony, gala evening, night at the hotel.

Saturday: transfer to Lima and end of the MDS adventure .

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU?

If it’s your first MDS, you probably have a lot of questions. Once you register, we'll send you a full checklist of the material, but here is the principal to have per person:

  • Backpack plus 2 water bottles (type Ultrabag 20L)
  • T-shirt + running shorts
  • Trail shoes + anti-sand gaiters
  • Cap and sunglasses
  • Change: T-shirt + light shorts / leggings
  • Windbreaker jacket for the evening and morning
  • Sleeping bag + mattress for the night
  • Hygiene products (sun cream, soap, antiseptic...)
  • Toilet paper
  • Food and kitchen utensils (cooking utensils, lighter, fire pellets...)

You can bring a large suitcase with more clothes, which you will leave at the hotel and find after the HMDS adventure.

MEALS

A total of 10 meals are required as follows:

  • Day 2: lunch, dinner.
  • Days 3 and 4: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
  • Day 5: breakfast, lunch.

A daily intake equivalent to 2000KCAL is recommended by the organisation.

PRICES

The pricing for MDS Peru 2025 is as follows:

MDS Peru Offer:

  • MDS Peru Price: €2,650
  • Until the end of December: €2,450
  • Until the end of January: €2,550

An additional €100 discount for the first 100 registrants.

These prices are for one person’s registration.

ULTRA-FLEXIBLE REGISTRATION CONDITIONS

Cancellation conditions:

  • Cancellation free of charge until June 1, 2025.
  • From June 2 to July 6, 2025, inclusive, 25% of the total amount of the registration will be retained by the organization in case of cancellation.
  • From July 7 to August 3, 2025, included, 50% of the total amount of the registration will be kept by the organization in case of cancellation.
  • After August 3, 2025, no refund is possible, however it will still be possible to postpone according to the conditions detailed below. 

Postponement conditions:

  • Postponement is free of charge until August 3, 2025..
  • From August 4 to October 5, 2025, inclusive, €250 postponement fee.
  • From October 06, 2025: no deferral possible.

INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION

In the amount of the registration is included:

  • Bib for the race
  • 4 nights in half-board: 1 night before the race + 1 night after the race
  • 3 nights at the bivouac in individual tents
  • Hotel-desert transfers
  • Gala Dinner
  • Medal and finisher t-shirt

SAFETY

During the race, you will be surrounded by the medical and organization teams from the beginning to the end of the stages.

The courses are marked with stakes every 50/100m, so it is almost impossible to get lost.

You will all be equipped with a GPS beacon with an alarm button, allowing the organization to locate you at any time.

A medical tent is present at the bivouac where you can go at any time.

The number of instalments may vary depending on the date of registration. The registration will be 100% validated once the total amount of the registration is paid.
