“I wanted to come back for the magic of the event”

Sarah is Swedish, but she lives in New York where she works as a Producer. This is the fifth time that she has participated in the MARATHON DES SABLES LEGENDARY: “I started running late, at 40, in 2013, and it was already for the MARATHON DES SABLES. It was difficult to reach the finish line, but I did it. And I came back in 2015, 2017 and 2019. And there I wanted to come back for the magic of the event.“

What she loves about the MDS is the camaraderie, the nature, the starry sky, the whole experience in fact. And for this fifth time, Sarah found everything she loved, including the challenge that the MDS represents: “I am prepared but this race is really demanding. I'm not someone who plays a lot of sports, I mostly do hiking. Yesterday was hard, today it will be even harder.“

Sarah has one more reason to participate in the MARATHON DES SABLES LEGENDARY: she supports the Suicide Zero association in Sweden: “I would like to complete the MDS once again to commemorate the memory of my son Maximilian who died two and a half years ago. He wanted to race with me one day or another, so this edition is in his honor and his memory, and to raise funds for the association, and to help the survivors.“
