“MDS is really another sport”

Yohann STUCK (D851–FRA)

Yohann STUCK can be satisfied with his start to the race in this 38TH MARATHON DES SABLES LEGENDARY: 8th on the first stage, 14th on the second, and without drawing on his reserves: “I'm trying to recover, I prepared a little aligot freeze-dried, it's going to be the best of my life.“ However, Yohann knows about good things: “I have a somewhat unusual story, in 2010 I weighed 100 kg, today I weigh 70, and probably 3 or 4 less in a few days. Before I ate pizza every night, I was a pizza maker, now I try to enjoy food but I'm careful.“ The advantage over the MDS is that you don't need to pay attention, the weight of your bag does it for you.

If the MDS adventure is only just beginning, Yohann is already delighted: “MDS is really another sport. It's great, it takes me out of my comfort zone. We discover an exceptional event, both for the beauty of the landscapes, the difficulty, the sharing, the community aspect in the tents and the support of the Staff.“

Jovial, always with a smile, beaming at the finish line, it's a pleasure to meet the Lyonnais who won the HMDS PERU in 2022, especially since he remains aware of his place: "I'm learning things since the start of the race. Starting with humility. I ran a little bit with Mohamed EL MORABITY at the start, when he should have been in front. But he told me that he preferred not to be at the forefront, that he didn't like being in the spotlight. And yet he is a magnificent runner. So there you have it, I'm learning humility little by little, even if sometimes my ego takes over. And I’m also learning a lot to put things into perspective."
